It is a quick read aloud and an excellent beginner reader selection. Our school Principal was invited to read this to K-3rd graders during a December Gingerbread Guest Reader Week in the Library Media Center. The students enjoyed the different version of the Gingerbread Boy and noticed some math pattern connections, too.
very educative book for kids under 7 years old, my daugther liked it a lot.hugo
Students will enjoy seeing how the principal gets in on the action and the school setting will grab kids from the first page. This is a great book to add to any collection of Gingerbread man stories.
You can use it to springboard other ideas for future books to written by the children in the Writing Workshop (the Writing Process for us old folks).Enjoy and get one. They want to read it again and again. I am a kindergarten teacher who likes to compare different books in the same genre. This book is excellent and good for the advanced reader afterward.
And it also allow kids to see there other books besize the Gingerbread boy. A must for teacher. It can show kids that they can take any story and add to it and make there own book.
